The Grade 5-6 students at Tohoku International School have just overcome gravity in their recent ‘Egg Drop’ competition. They made hypotheses about what type of container would keep a raw egg safe after a three-storey drop.
After testing some prototypes at school, the scientists built their final containers at home. In the end there was plenty of yolk splattered in the landing pit. However, there were also many successful ’drops’ as well!
Those eggs that survived were cooked up by the TIS PTA and enjoyed by the successful scientists! The entire school enjoyed the competition cheering every splat, spill, and successful drop! It was a fabulous event!
