In an effort to provide opportunities for teacher trainees from around the world, K. International School Tokyo has hired its first intern.
Ms Ashley Chin from Malaysia joined the school in September as part of a six-month internship. So far, Ms Chin has been working with small groups of grade 3 students to support them with their English language development by leading guided reading sessions and teaching lessons targeting specific English skills.
Following her experience as an intern, Ms Chin will return to Malaysia to complete two final years of her Bachelor of Education degree before commencing work as a teacher at an international school in Malaysia.
