In September, K. International School grade 11 students visited Atami in Shizuoka for an overnight excursion that focused on both study skills and collaboration. Having just commenced their first year of the two-year IB Diploma Programme, the students took part in activities in preparation for the challenges they will encounter throughout the DP.
The students engaged in team building activities and challenges including building a device to catch a free falling volleyball with only paper, wooden chopsticks, rubber bands and a straw! The following day featured a trip to the beach where students were divided into teams to take part in a contest to build the most creative sand castle.
Commenting on the success of the trip, one student wrote: “we all strengthened our friendship bonds and now realize that the coming two years will require every individual to be serious about their studies.”
