On Friday February 3rd Horizon Japan International School Sendai held an event related to Japanese Culture Day.
Experts came to the school to teach us about Japanese calligraphy and traditional Japanese dance, with parents participating too.
We were also treated to the traditional Japanese storytelling art of kami-shibai (paper theater) and later participated in a “bean throwing” activity to ward off any bad spirits at our school, as is customary during setsubun in Japan. The event was enjoyable for all!
