Each year at the end of April, Horizon Japan International School celebrates the diversity of its staff and students through song and dance. Each of the grades coordinates and performs a unique dance based on a different culture from around the world. This year’s dances were from Jamaica, Russia, South Korea, Samoa, the United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Students also created colourful country-themed posters to be displayed around the school. Parents and friends came to the school to watch the dances and participate in the day’s activities. There were foods from around the world, fun cultural activities, and a PTA-sponsored bazaar. The festivities ran from 10am–2pm, and were great fun for all. — KEMAL TEKIN
