“Dreams” is the theme for this year’s recognition and commencement ceremony, held this month at Hitokoe Yokohama International School. The lyrics “we are the dreams come true” were heard throughout the school as students rehearsed their harmonies with their teachers, who always find that they have mixed emotions around this time of year as they have to say goodbye and let the children spread their wings. The dedicated educators at the school hope that the children will maintain their curiosity as they discover what lies ahead in their efforts to be unique, globally minded, and multilingual citizens.
The graduating students will share the celebration with the younger students from the Rainbow and Sunshine classes, who are themselves looking forward to becoming the older students of the school in April, as they begin to pursue their own dreams. — PATRICIA ALDANA
