The new school year at Treehouse Montessori School started with many new surprises, including three new teachers, one of whom is the new PE teacher. There was also the addition of some new students who joined from the Treehouse Summer Program, which ran for eight weeks in recent months.
The biggest change is within the classroom, specifically a newly established art space on the second floor of the school — everyone has been looking forward to activities that foster creative development in the students. Children have already been exploring different types of art media through which they can express themselves.
Next to the art room is the multi-purpose room where Circle Time and various academic studies are carried out. There is also a new library full of many of the children’s favourite books. As the students returned to school they enjoyed checking out the books and looking for new ones that they wanted to read.
All the new developments and changes brought smiles to the faces of the children at Treehouse this term. — JENNY VYVIAL
